Location & sharing

When a location looks out of date

A few things to check before relying on a point on the map.

Check when it last updated

A location on the map may be the last location the phone shared. Check its time before assuming someone is still there. A missing update does not tell you why they stopped sharing.

Check the phone that is sharing

Work through these checks with the person whose location is missing. They should decide whether to change their sharing settings.

  1. Confirm the phone has power and an internet connection.
  2. Open SaberAlert and check that the person is signed in to the expected household.
  3. Review sharing settings in SaberAlert and location permissions in iPhone Settings.
  4. Update SaberAlert to the latest available version and check the map again.

If it still looks wrong

Tell us your app version, iPhone model, and roughly when the problem happened. Don’t include anyone’s home address, private route, or password.

SaberAlert is not an emergency response service. For an immediate emergency, contact local emergency services.
