The rules for using SaberAlert — including who you may add to a family, and who you may not.

Accepting these terms
By using the SaberAlert app, sensors, or website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.
If you downloaded the app from Apple, Apple's standard licence terms also apply to your use of the app itself. These terms cover the things Apple's do not: how families work, who may be tracked, and how we handle children's information.
What SaberAlert does
SaberAlert is a family safety service. It:
- •shows family members each other's location on a shared map, when they have chosen to share it
- •notifies a family about arrivals, departures, and places that matter to them
- •uses optional sensors to notice unfamiliar devices near a home
This is a beta
SaberAlert is currently offered as a beta, including through Apple's TestFlight. Beta software is provided as-is. It may contain defects, features may change or disappear, and service may be interrupted without notice.
Do not rely on SaberAlert as your only means of keeping someone safe.
Not an emergency service
SaberAlert is not a monitored alarm system, a medical alert device, or a way to contact emergency services. It does not summon police, fire, or ambulance, and no one at SaberAlert is watching your alerts on your behalf.
In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Location accuracy depends on the phone, its battery, its settings, and mobile and satellite coverage. Notifications depend on networks and on Apple's delivery. Any of these can delay or prevent an alert.
Who you may add to a family
Everybody whose location appears in SaberAlert takes part themselves. A member installs the app on their own device, signs in, and grants location permission. There is no way to add a person and see where they are without them doing that.
You may invite someone to your family only if:
- •they are an adult who knows they are being invited and agrees to share their location with your family, or
- •they are your own child, and you are their parent or legal guardian
Any member can stop sharing their location at any time, or leave the family. You may not pressure, deceive, or condition anything on a person's decision to share.
Things you may not do
You may not use SaberAlert to monitor an adult who has not agreed to it.
That includes a partner, ex-partner, family member, employee, or anyone else. Installing this on another adult's device without their knowledge, or using it to stalk, harass, control, or intimidate someone, is a fundamental breach of these terms. It is also a criminal offence in many places.
You also may not:
- •use sensors to identify, follow, or build a record of people passing by
- •install sensors anywhere you do not control or have permission to use
- •share another member's location outside your family without their agreement
- •attempt to breach, disrupt, or reverse engineer the service
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, without notice where someone's safety is at stake.
Age, and children
You must be at least 13 to hold your own SaberAlert account, and at least 18 to create a family and invite others.
A child under 13 may be part of a family, but only where their parent or legal guardian has verified their consent first. By adding a child, you confirm you are that child's parent or guardian and that you have authority to consent for them.

Your account
Keep your sign-in details to yourself and let us know if you think someone else has access to your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. Deleting your account removes your location history. You can also export a copy of your data before you go.
Liability, and changes
To the fullest extent the law allows, SaberAlert is provided without warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from a missed, delayed, or inaccurate alert. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Some places do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this may not apply to you.
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use SaberAlert after that means you accept the updated terms.
